Missionary life is not about being heroic; it is about being faithful in the small, unseen, and often very hard places.”

Chris & Nikki Stromlund

Chris and Nikki Stromlund spent over two decades living and serving overseas in Asia, with remote and challenging ministry contexts. Their years abroad were marked not only by church planting and leadership, but by deep relationships listening, encouraging, and coming alongside those faithfully serving far from home. Living life on the field shaped their hearts with a profound compassion for the unique pressures, isolation, and spiritual demands missionaries often carry.

Out of those experiences, and a growing desire to care well for those who serve, Chris and Nikki founded The Walk (www.findthewalk.com), a ministry devoted to helping missionaries flourish spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. Their passion for soul care, renewal, and healthy, sustainable ministry flows directly from their own journey overseas and having people walk through difficulties with them.

They also serve as the directors of The Potter’s Place, a prayer retreat ministry for pastors and missionaries. Together, they create a welcoming, restorative space where missionaries and pastors can step away from the weight of ministry, slow down, encounter the Lord, and be deeply refreshed. Their years of cross-cultural living, care for the soul, and love for hospitality are woven into every detail of the experience.

Chris and Nikki are the grateful parents of four grown children and count it a privilege to walk alongside others, offering the wisdom, grace, and hope they’ve gained through a lifetime of serving God around the world.
